Melissa Mayfield, DNP

Melissa graduated from Sand Rock High School in 1998 and pursued an associate’s degree in nursing at Gadsden State. With 16 years of nursing experience, she worked in the emergency room at Riverview Regional for five years before transitioning to psychiatric nursing at Mountainview Hospital in Gadsden. During this time, she balanced work as a physician nurse while earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University. Melissa successfully completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with honors in 2024. 

For the past five years, she has been the primary provider at Medical Asset Group in Crossville, AL, while working alongside her mother, Patti. Her expertise lies in family medicine, health promotion, chronic disease management, psychiatric management, workman’s comp, DOT physicals, and joint injections. 

Melissa has excellent bedside manners; taking the time to get to know her patients is especially important, as well as ensuring that her wait times are low and her care is exceptional. She will continue to take new patients, with plans to bring in additional providers in the future to help care for all patients.

Married with three daughters, Melissa cherishes spending time with her loved ones, going on boat rides, and dancing. She is very thankful God answered her prayers for allowing her to continue to treat all her patients in the Crossville office and provided her the opportunity to purchase the building and the company so she will always be able to serve and treat the patients that have become like family.
